Hello, fellow parents and educators! We are thrilled to announce a delicious new update to our coloring website. Our Global Culinary Delights collection has just expanded, bringing a fresh batch of international desserts and cozy comfort foods directly to your child's coloring station.
Whether you are using these pages for a cultural geography lesson or just for a fun afternoon activity, these new additions are sure to spark creativity (and maybe a little appetite!). Here is a look at what has just arrived, along with some fresh coloring techniques to try with your little artists.
One of our standout new pages features a classic French Fruit Tart. This page is perfect for practicing pattern recognition, as the fruit slices are arranged in beautiful concentric circles.
Coloring Tip: Teach your kids the "highlight trick"! To make the fruit look like it has that authentic, shiny bakery glaze, have them lightly trace a tiny white circle or line on each piece of fruit before coloring the rest. It gives a wonderful 3D gloss effect when the vibrant reds, yellows, and greens are filled in around it.
We've also added a traditional Thai Mango Sticky Rice dessert.
Coloring Tip: Use the background to make the main subject pop! By coloring the banana leaf in deep, rich greens, the bright yellows and oranges of the mango will stand out brilliantly on the page.
For the chocolate lovers, our new German Black Forest Cake slice is a must-print. With its tall layers, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings, it offers a great opportunity to talk about contrast.
Coloring Tip: How do you color whipped cream if the paper is already white? Show your children how to use a very light blue or pale grey colored pencil to softly outline the edges of the cream. This creates a "shadow" that makes the white cream look fluffy and three-dimensional against the dark brown sponge cake.
Finally, to balance out the sweets, we've added a piping hot bowl of French Onion Soup.
Coloring Tip: To capture the look of toasted, bubbly cheese, encourage your little ones to use small, circular coloring motions. Blending yellow, orange, and light brown crayons together in these little circles will perfectly recreate the look of a delicious, melted gruyère cheese topping.
